Grapefruit
This bitter citrus fruit has an unusual sulfurous note which is quite distinctive. Its oils are obtained through the zest, which is cold pressed, as is the standard extraction process for citrus fruits.
Grapefruit’s primary aromatic compound, nootkatone, is also found in vetiver, meaning that these two notes are often paired together to great effect.
