Violon Basse 16

The Violon Basse is an organ stop historically made of either wood or metal. It is a rather large pipe, and produces a rasping sound like that of a string being bowed. This fragrance plays on the alternation of wood and metal, and the smell of char as the pipe warms.

A deep and rounded note of leathery charred wood defines this fragrance. An addition of fir balsam, with its citrusy inflection calls to mind the smell of rosin on the bow of a violon. In contact with cold metal strings: a thunderous contrast.
