Vetiver Coeur

Bergamot | Bright | Vetiver Heart

After years of searching, I finally found a beautiful, “soft” Vetiver with a soothing heart (middle) note which enabled me to eliminate the strong, bitter note often found in Vetiver root. Vetiver Coeur opens with an unusual citrus accord which is very prominent and long lasting. This is followed by a mix of Iris, Orange Flower, and Rose. These eventually lead you into the long-awaited base note of the Vetiver dry down: which finally rewards with a smouldering, velvety accord.

Due to its grounding, sensuous, and deeply calming scent, Vetiver is referred to as the “Oil of Tranquility” and “The Fragrance of the Soil.” Its relaxing properties create a feeling of harmony. In India Vetiver is a holy herb and it is said to calm the angry hearts and tempers down passion when it clouds our judgment. The name refers to “Vetiver,” a Tamil word meaning “root that is dug up.”

The Vetiver plant used in Vetiver Coeur comes from Haiti, where the oil is crucial to an estimated 60,000 people relying on it as their primary source of income. It is from a sustainable and ethical sourcing of Vetiver and supports rural communities and small farmers to adopt socially and ecologically responsible production of Vetiver oil.
