The Lover's Tale
Leathery | Naughty | Dark
When jasmine meets leather.
This is a story about a lover’s secret encounter. Rich in natural raw materials, jasmine and leather are the protagonists of this perfume. The opening evokes the sparkling mood of the very moment they meet; attraction and romance then trap the lovers, and a narcotic jasmine softened by a powdery rose, recreates this tension. Passion then takes over, with a sophisticated leather, developing on a chypre accord.
The Lover’s Tale feels like the most ancient of leather fragrances - those that were originally applied to the material after the tanning process in order to mask the smell of the harsh compounds used. A brutish, castoreum-based leather accord is the absolute head, heart and base of this fragrance. Creamy and rich florals, resins and honey are all there to compliment the dark power of the leather. Somewhat barnyardy, The Lover’s Tale may appeal to lovers of oud who are seeking a leather alternative to the prized wood.
Francesca Bianchi’s fragrances are known for their strength, power and sillage, and The Lover’s Tale is probably the biggest of the lot. We advise one single, wide spray of this fragrance, or perhaps even a spray inside a leather garment.
