Plein Jeu III-V

Radiant | Woody | Incense

The free polyphony of angels. This fragrance takes its name from an organ register made up of various rows of pipes - Plein jeu III – V refers to a set of 3 classical registrations (III, IV, V) that produced a complete and harmonious combination of sounds. Hence the name, Full Chorus. It is the most solemn, greatest and most characteristic sound of the organ, of great elevation.

Plein jeu III-V is an incense for the masses (a phrase that perhaps applies to multiple instances of the word's meaning...)

With its invigorating and spicy opening of sweet, fizzy lemon, robust pepper and earthy ginger, this fragrance from Filippo Sorcinelli sets its tone from the start. This is not a deep, smoky incense, nor is it a sticky, resinous scent. Instead, Plein jeu III-V marries olibanum's lifted yet grounding nature with a harmony of cedar, fir and sandalwood.

We suggest that this fragrance can even be worn in the warmer seasons, and for a variety of occasions. If you're curious about incense, or averse to certain treatments of this note in niche perfumery, then Plein jeu III-V might just be for you.
