Mandarin
One of the most adored of all the citrus family (seriously, who doesn’t love the smell of a mandarin?!). Slightly sweeter and more joyful than an orange, mandarin also matches very well with spices and some florals like jasmine.
Mandarin is used as a fleeting top note, but it certainly can contribute a lot to a fragrance whilst it’s around. Due to potential skin irritation, only small amounts of citrus oils are typically used in perfumery.
Tangerine and Clementine are also listed here due to their close relationship and scent.
